Amberley’s skilled, responsive police and fire services are highly valued by residents of the Village. It’s reassuring to know that their assistance is only minutes away at any time of day or night. In our small village setting, officers often know residents by name and take great pride in providing a high level of service.

The Department consists of:

  • Full-time Chief
  • 17 sworn officers, including one lieutenant, five sergeants, and one detective, a K9 unit, and seven part-time officers.
  • Five civilian dispatcher/clerks

As a consolidated department, all officers are cross-trained in law enforcement and firefighting duties, an approach that minimizes expenditures and maximizes quick and effective response to the wide range of citizen needs and requests. All officers also are classified as first responders for life squad purposes and are CPR-certified.

Officers have certain specialized duties; some are classified as investigators, evidence technicians, school resource officers, fire inspectors, intoxilyzer officers, crime prevention officers or auto accident experts.

One of only two fully consolidated departments in Ohio, the Amberley Village Public Safety Department adheres to high professional standards.

Additionally, Amberley officers are active in local police organizations, such as the Hamilton County Police Association, Hamilton County Police Association S.W.A.T., Hamilton County Police Association Underwater Search & Rescue, Hamilton County Fire Investigation Unit, and other groups.
