Local Affiliations
The Hamilton County Police Association (HCPA) consists of 43 police departments and numerous non-police contributors that are considered associate members. The HCPA funds the Hamilton County SWAT Team, Underwater Search and Recovery Team, the Mobile Field Force, as well as the Honor Guard, which serves current and retired officers at funerals as a color guard, pallbearers, buglers, and by standing guard at coffins. These teams are funded through annual dues, fundraisers, and member attendance at the HCPA meetings.
Village officers currently on these teams are:
- Underwater Search and Recovery – Commander Chris Fritsch and Officer Mark Roeseler
- SWAT Team – Officer John Burton
- Mobile Field Force - Officer Risco Sumler and Sergeant Brandon Gehring
- Honor Guard – Officer Nick Mercer
The HCPA holds a social meeting once a month at different police locations to report on the involvement of the association. The HCPA monthly meetings are social functions that unite the police agencies and encourage strengthened work relationships.
Amberley Village Police/Fire Department is also represented in the following groups:
- Hamilton County Arson Task Force – Sgt. Tim Schmidtgoessling and Sgt. Brandon Gehring
- Hamilton County Fire Chief’s Association – Chief Richard L. Wallace
- Hamilton County Police Chief’s Association – Chief Richard L. Wallace
