Chief Richard L. Wallace

Chief Richard L. Wallace was sworn in as the Police/Fire Chief of Amberley Village in July of 2011. He now has 32 years of experience in law enforcement, with 24 years of service with Amberley Village Police and Fire Department, where he continues to lead one of two uniquely combined police/fire departments in the State of Ohio. Chief Wallace holds professional credentials including Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE), Police Executive Leadership College (PELC), and the Xavier University Leadership Foundations Certificate. He has served on several Executive Boards, including The Shield, Inc., Guns & Hoses, Hamilton County Police Association, Great Oaks Police Academy, Hamilton County Association of Chiefs of Police, and the RCIC/CLEAR Board. He has been recognized with numerous awards, including his recent Superior Achievement in Police Leadership Award, presented by Hamilton County Law Enforcement. In the spirit of his commitment to strengthening police/community relationships, Chief Wallace coordinated significant community events at the Amberley Village Fire House during the COVID-19 pandemic, including a drive-thru Summer Kick-Off Event and a drive-thru Halloween Trunk or Treat event for underprivileged children, and a drive-thru Ice Cream Social for residents of Amberley Village and surrounding communities.

A member of the Amberley force since 1996, Wallace rose through the ranks to sergeant and then lieutenant. He graduated from Police Executive Leadership College in 2007 and from Certified Law Enforcement Executive in 2010.
