Amberley Village was recently featured on local news for its partnership in bringing life-saving technology to our region. Go-to-Green is a patented directional system that uses overhead lighting in indoor and outdoor environments to evacuate people away from an active shooter. The Texas-based start-up company created a system focused on quickly getting students and staff to safety in an active shooter situation, which is being utilized in North Texas schools. Chief Richard Wallace is a proponent of bringing the technology to the Tri-State, and has arranged for the Amberley Village Municipal Building to serve as a live demo site for organizations interested in learning more about the system.

Local news media were invited to preview the system, which Wallace believes will prove invaluable to local schools, synagogues, community centers and local governments. The system utilizes cameras and lights in conjunction with live dispatch monitors to direct people in an active shooter situation on a path toward safety. The system was developed by former military personnel, and offers advantages to both individualsGo-to-Green technology helps guide people away from an active shooter in an active shooter situation and responding law enforcement.

"This is an effective tool we can use to gain an advantage over an active shooter at a time when we'll take every advantage we can get," said Chief Wallace. The partnership is yet another example of Amberley Village's commitment to public safety, services and leadership in community policing. Wallace says he will share more information about the Village's role in promoting Go-to-Green in a series of upcoming meetings with residents. Meeting dates and times are to be announced.
