Each year, the Hamilton County Conservation District, in conjunction with Great Parks of Hamilton County, hosts a Native Tree and Shrub Sale, which offers a variety of native trees and shrubs at a low cost. Their goal is to reduce the negative effects of stormwater runoff by reducing soil erosion and slowing down the speed of the runoff. Native plants are most effective at achieving these goals because they are adapted ot our local climate, and also provide rich habitat for local wildlife.
Orders can be placed between July 17 and August 25 and picked up on Saturday, September 9 between 9 am and 1 pm at Sharon Woods and Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve. The cost for each 3-gallon container is $25.
