Drug Takeback Day Collects Nearly 20 Pounds of Unused Prescriptions!

Drug Takeback Day Returns 4/22

On Saturday, April 22, Amberley Village Police Department collected 18.6 lbs of unused or expired prescriptions as part of the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. National Take Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. But did you know that Amberley Village accepts unused and expired prescriptions all year long?

Residents can bring their unused prescriptions to Amberley Village Dispatch anytime 24/7. Pills must be removed from prescription bottles and placed in plastic zip-lock bags before they can be accepted. Amberley Village will also accept vaping devices and cartridges, however, devices containing lithium-ion batteries cannot be accepted. If batteries cannot be removed prior to drop-off, residents are encouraged to consult with stores that recycle lithium-ion batteries.
