Electric & Natural Gas Aggregation

Amberley Village residents are able to choose their energy provider as part of the Energy Choice Ohio program, which allows many customers to shop for the energy they use. The attached document at the bottom of the page outlines the important differences between energy supply and delivery, and provides you with important definitions and background to assist in making an informed decision. Residents with questions regarding our aggregation program can contact Village Administration at 513-531-8675, or visit the Energy Choice Ohio website.

Electric Aggregation

The Village’s electric aggregation program with Dynegy began in August 2021 and offers a fixed rate of 4.93 cents per kilowatt-hour through August 2023. At that time, the Village has contracted with Energy Harbor at a rate 7.2 cents per kilowatt-hour through August 2025. The current Duke Energy rate as of June 2023 is 10.17 cents per kilowatt-hour.

If you are with another supplier and would like to switch to the Village’s aggregation program you should check with your existing supplier for related cancellation fees.  After you cancel your existing contract, contact the Village Aggregation Consultant at Affordable Gas and Electric (see below) and tell them you want to join the Amberley Village electric aggregation program.   There are no additional fees associated with the Village’s aggregation programs and you may join or cancel at any time.

Natural Gas Aggregation

Amberley Village has again opted to follow the recommendation of its Aggregation Consultant, AGE, and has locked in a fixed rate contract with IGS Energy of $0.869 per ccf for the Village Gas Aggregation program for the winter of 2022.  The contract, which begins in October 2022, runs through October of 2024, and new rates will be reflected on the November 2022 bill.

Duke’s GCR (Gas Cost Recovery) rates to compare for September 1, 2022 through October 2, 2022 were released at $1.1554 following a drop in August of 2022.  This kind of volatility, more likely to the high side, is what AGE’s recommendations were based upon for the upcoming contract, and why the fixed rate plan is a great move for residents.

If you are with another supplier and would like to switch to the Village’s natural gas aggregation program you should check with your existing supplier for related cancellation fees. After you cancel your existing contract, contact AGE, the Village’s Aggregation Consultant (see below), and tell them you want to join the Amberley Village natural gas aggregation program. There are no additional fees associated with the Village’s aggregation programs and you may join or cancel at any time.
