Farmcrest-Kincaid 2022 Reconstruction Project Updates

Proposed Plans:  Farmcrest & Kincaid Reconstruction

Amberley Village presented plans for the reconstruction of Farmcrest and Kincaid in resident meetings, held in December 2021 and June 2022.  Residents who  were unable to make one or both of the meetings can reference the video links, which capture both presentations.  The PowerPoint presentations featured in each of the videos are also posted for reference.  These have been positioned so the video and presentation can be viewed simultaneously.  Please note that changes may yet occur due to weather, supply chain issues or personnel.  Amberley Village will make every effort to communicate with residents throughout the project.  Regular updates will also be posted to the website.

Farmcrest Reconstruction Update

11/11/2022: Amberley Village sent the following e-mail to residents who provided their information for inclusion in updates:

Update:

Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) is in the process of tying in residential water service lines to the new water main, which was recently installed. GCWW is responsible for notifying individual households at least 24 hours in advance of the water being shut-off to connect each home. Notification is achieved through the use of door hangers, so be sure to check your front doors regularly to avoid missing your notice. Connection into the new water main can take up to ten hours, so be sure to plan ahead by purchasing or storing water for use during this time.

GCWW began the residential tie-ins for the homes on North Farmcrest last week. The crews began at the intersection of North and South Farmcrest, and will be working clockwise through the neighborhood until all homes along North and South Farmcrest have been connected to the new water main.

Once the GCWW water main project is finished, work on the Farmcrest Reconstruction Project will be suspended for the winter, as the winter weather is not conducive to the street reconstruction work.

Amberley Village is working to maintain regular contact with GCWW to bring you updates, however, due to the nature of construction projects, we are only able to share information as it becomes available to us. If you have specific questions or concerns regarding your property as it relates to the Farmcrest/Kincaid Water Main Project, please contact Greater Cincinnati Water Works directly at 513-765-1212.

Looking Ahead:

Please note that you likely notice a difference in Village snow removal services due to the state of the roadway during this transition. While our Maintenance Crews will make every effort to deliver services to the best of their abilities, some examples of what you may see during snow events include:

  • Snow along curb line that cannot be removed due to exposed catch basins, which could result in narrower road access
  • Snow remaining on roadways that cannot be removed due to the uneven surface, which will be addressed with additional salt and brine.

Please know that the Village takes great pride in the services we render to our residents. While we anticipate some changes to the winter services you are accustomed to, bear in mind that the short-term adjustments will result in the long-term benefit of complete reconstruction of both the roads and the curbs. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve the Village infrastructure in your neighborhood.

As always, please feel free to reach us with any questions or concerns at 513-531-8675 or through our website at www.amberleyvillage.org

7/1/2022:  Work has begun on the storm water infrastructure replacement near the intersection of North and South Farmcrest Drive, with excavation and installation of a manhole and pipe on the property at 3109 North Farmcrest. Plans to install the storm water system on South Farmcrest have been redirected to install the system on North Farmcrest first as a precaution in case of heavy rains. The storm water system will be installed on South Farmcrest once installation on North Farmcrest is complete.

A resident meeting was held on Monday, June 20, 2022, where detailed plans for this project were shared.  A tentative work schedule was presented, along with details regarding each phase of the project.  These can be found by visiting the links below.

The update below was based upon a preliminary project planning meeting.  As of May 11, 2022, no additional information is available, and contractors are still awaiting confirmation on arrival of materials.  Please check back for updates.
