The American Public Works Association is proud to announce “The Rhythm of Public Works” as the theme for the 2020 National Public Works Week poster. This year’s exciting poster challenges members and citizens to think about their communities as a symphony of essential services, working in concert to create a great place to live. Every community has a rhythm, a heartbeat that reflects its essence and tempo of life.
Public Works’ keeps a community’s rhythm moving by providing an orchestra of infrastructure services in transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, parks, and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste, and right-of-way management. Public Works provides the harmony needed for collaboration with all the stakeholders in capital projects, infrastructure solutions, and quality of life services.
Amberley Village Maintenance Department serves this role in our community, and all Maintenance personnel are trained to serve as Firefighters as well. May will be spent working to transition our Maintenance workers back into their primary roles as public works employees, so they can resume the services we’ve all come to love and appreciate. If you see them out, be sure and thank them for their service and welcome them back on board!
