Ice Cream Social–Aug. 7

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of residents led by Amy Rubenstein, the Ice Cream Social for Amberley residents will take place at Village Hall on Aug. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  These volunteers actively sought sponsors and re-formatted the event to reduce costs while continuing a much-loved community tradition.  There will be musical entertainment, kids’ activities and a bike parade!  Watch for more details at AmberleyVillage.org.

Calling All Artists!

Amberley artists of all ages and abilities are once again invited to submit entries for the second annual exhibit at the Ice Cream Social.  Bring your submissions to Village Hall between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm on a weekday, by Friday, Aug. 5.  Entrants must provide their own easel or stand for display.  Please label your work with your name and if you like, a title.  Please contact amyhrubenstein@gmail.com with any questions.

A Green Clearing

All are encouraged to join in the Amberley Green Clearing events which resume next week.  Come help care for the trees on this beautiful property.  The dates are the first Thursday of every month – July 7th, August 4th, September 1st, and October 6th.  The group will meet at 6:30 pm in the parking lot of Amberley Green. The first activity will be to remove the invasive honeysuckle from the river birch and pine tree beds that were worked on last year.  With more participants, these work sessions will further enhance Amberley Green.  An added reward is making new friends from the community while contributing to the restoration of the trees.  Please join the team!  No sign-up required.

Water Quality Lecture

Please join Brian Bohl, Stream Specialist from Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District, for a discussion of water quality in surrounding waterways, pollution prevention, stream habitat, and storm water management techniques.  The talk will be held in the Village Hall community room (lower level, enter in back) on July 27 at 7:00 pm.  It is free of charge, and no registration is required.

Letter from the Interim Village Manager

Interim Village ManagerVillage Council has appointed me as the Interim Village Manager to assist in the transition as a new Village Manager is hired. I am honored to serve the community and am very impressed with the Village, its staff and the level of service provided to residents. In working with the staff, I have found them to be very receptive to calls and inquiries from the residents; likewise, I have found Amberley Village Council very responsive to the residents.

Arbor Day In The Garden Party

Pam HesslerAmberley’s Arbor Day observance this spring was Sunday June 12th.  This year’s weather was absolutely perfect with a very special day of activities.  The event featured Amberley’s Heritage Tree Dedication, Arbor Day Proclamation, Garden Award introductions and educational environmental programs by residents Albert Tomasi and Meredith Bailey.  Two tons of paper and almost 100 pair of rubber athletic shoes were collected for recycling.
