Amberley Village holiday service hours are listed below, as well as contact and recycling information for trees, holiday lights and other holiday materials.

  • Natural, live Christmas trees can be placed at the curb with the trunk pointing toward the street for Village Maintenance Crews to chip up along with brush. Please be sure all ornaments, lights, tinsel, bows and hooks are removed from the tree before placing at the curb.
  • Hamilton County Great Parks offers holiday light recycling.  Visit their page for additional information.
  • Rumpke Holiday Pickup guidelines are listed here.
  • For those who are gifted new gadgets this year, make sure to properly dispose of your old one. This is especially true for cellphones, as harmful toxic chemicals from lithium batteries pose a growing threat through water and soil contamination. Look into companies which can securely wipe all of your personal data during the recycling process. Alternatively, consider giving your old device to someone who needs it.
  • When your ugly holiday sweater inevitably begins to unravel, consider giving it a new life by repurposing it. For gifted clothing that isn't quite your style, consider donating it to a thrift store or a shelter.

Other DIY options for recycling trees:

  • If you live in a place with a yard and love the look of the tree year-round, there's always the option of replanting it.
  • Other ways to reuse the tree include:
    • Burning the wood to ash your garden.
    • Making firewood.
    • Chipping the tree or using the needles for mulch.
