Amberley Village Welcomes New Council & New Mayor

The new 2023 Amberley Village Council held its first official meeting as a governing body on Monday, December 11, 2023, and elected the Village's first new Mayor in a decade.  Mayor Bob Rosen was unanimously elected by members of Council to serve as the Village's new mayor, following the most recent mayor, Tom Muething, who completed five terms, or ten years as mayor. Muething served a total of 12 years on council, and announced he would not seek re-election this past year.

Rosen, who was first elected in 2021, was unanimously voted in as Mayor for the 2023-25 session. Vice Mayor Ben Hunt will continue in his role alongside Mayor Rosen after council re-elected him unanimously as well.

Council also welcomed its newest member, Councilmember Adam Frankel, who fills the seat left vacant by former Mayor Muething. Mr. Frankel will now serve as the District C representative to the municipal legislative body. An Oath of Office Ceremony was held on Sunday, December 1 to swear in Frankel and the other councilmembers prior to the December 11 meeting (see middle link below.)

In addition to voting in a new Mayor, Council also re-appointed Village Solicitor Andrew Kaake and Clerk of Council Tammy Reasoner. After 15 years of service, Treasurer Rick Kay is stepping down, but will be replaced by a former schoolmate.  Resident Claire Eichner was recommended by Mr. Kay to fill the position, and Ms. Eichner was appointed at the December 11 meeting as well. Mr. Kay was presented with a commemorative brick, which will be placed in the Village Flag Plaza at the Municipal Building, and was also given his Council Chambers nameplate as a keepsake. Village leadership expressed deep appreciation for all of Kay's hard work, and offered  a warm welcome to Ms. Eichner in her new role.
